You have already booked your yacht charter in the South of France and the date is fast approaching. You want to make sure you haven't forgotten anything for this long-awaited cruise. Your charter planner will undoubtedly have provided you with all the information you need. But sometimes, some clients have specific questions. In that case, the first thing to do is to ask your charter planner. However, our team has prepared a post that should help you if you are wondering how to prepare your next yacht charter on the French Riviera.
Think about your documents
You must make sure that you and all your guests will be in possession of all the necessary administrative documents to travel to the countries you will be visiting when chartering your yacht on the French Riviera. Prepare your own checklist and don't forget anything as you will not be able to board the yacht! Apart from that, you will need to check your credit card and cash.
Pack your essentials
When you go on holiday, whether in a hotel or on a yacht, you probably take certain products with you, such as medicines, cosmetics or sunscreen. Don't forget to buy these products before you leave and put them in your luggage. This will save you the hassle of holiday shopping. Also note that, depending on the destination of your yacht charter, some products may not be available. We wouldn't want to break your routine! If you have any problems, ask your crew and they will make the appropriate recommendations.
Review the suggested itinerary
We all agree that a bit of improvisation doesn't hurt anyone, but our experience has shown that it is best for all parties - passengers, crew and your charter planner - to plan the cruise itinerary in advance. Your charter planner will discuss this with you and make the most appropriate suggestions. Keep in mind, however, that the itinerary may change depending on weather conditions and that the Captain will always have the last word.
Prepare your luggage with care
On a yacht, storage space is limited. Depending on the size of your charter yacht, you may want to consider taking only soft luggage so that the crew can stow it and save space. Don't pack too much clothing either. Chances are you'll spend most of your time in swimsuits, so make sure you pack a few. When you're packing for your cruise, consider the season of your rental and do a little weather check. Although the summer climate is mostly pleasant in the Mediterranean, you may want to bring a light jacket for the evenings. Shoes are not allowed on board, so don't take all your pairs of shoes with you. Don't forget to bring a pair of comfortable sneakers if you plan to spend time ashore, a pair of beach shoes and finally some more elegant shoes if you are going out in the evening.
